Major General Chen Yuan-Hao, Deputy Director of the Military Medical Bureau (formerly the Director of Tri-Service General Hospital), was awarded the Taiwan Medical Model Award by the National Physicians’ Association of the Republic of China. He received this recognition on November 8, 2025, during the 78th Annual Physicians’ Day Celebration, where President Lai Ching-te personally presented the award!
The Taiwan Medical Model Award is one of the highest honors in the medical field in Taiwan, recognizing outstanding physicians who have made significant contributions in clinical care, hospital management, teaching, research, and social service. Deputy Director Chen Yuan-Hao has dedicated his efforts to advancing medical health and military medicine, upholding the principle of "patient safety and quality first." He has promoted smart healthcare, precision medicine, and sustainable development, leading Tri-Service General Hospital to steady innovation and excellence. Under his leadership, the hospital has achieved remarkable successes, including:
• Leading the team to win the National Biotechnology and Medical Quality Award Silver Prize (Asia's highest standard) and being recognized as the institution with the most SNQ (National Quality Mark) awards in a year.
• Promoting localized healthcare services in the outlying islands of Penghu, reducing healthcare disparities, and improving service accessibility.
• Actively advancing medical internationalization, signing cooperation agreements with medical institutions in Mongolia, Vietnam, and other countries, enhancing local healthcare capacity and technology.
• Leading a medical team in Hualien County’s Guangfu Township during a flood disaster and personally guiding hospital evacuation drills, demonstrating the crucial role of the military medical system in disaster response and social defense resilience.
