On March 15, 2025, the National Federation of Nurses Associations, R.O.C. held the Nursing Innovation Competition Award Ceremony. On behalf of TSGH, Nurse Lin Yi-Han from Ward 45 proudly received the Third Place National Award from Minister of Health and Welfare, Chiu Tai-Yuan. This achievement brings us immense joy and honor.

The award-winning patented invention, the Urinary Catheter Chemotherapy Connection Pump Device (R.O.C. Utility Model Patent M666375), was developed by the Ward 45 Nursing Research and Development Team. They identified challenges in the clinical process of bladder chemotherapy instillation, which requires multiple disconnections between the urinary catheter and urine bag, leading to inefficiency, complexity, and an increased risk of chemotherapy leakage. To address these nursing difficulties, the team designed and developed this innovative safety device.

Under the leadership of Director Chen Mei-Rong, the Department of Nursing has fostered a strong culture of innovation, consistently achieving remarkable results. Nurses Lin Yi-Han and Hua Tong-Wen expressed their gratitude for the department’s positive guidance, which enabled them to participate in research and win an award within just one year of working at Tri-Service General Hospital. Their invention enhances patient safety and convenience, and they remain committed to continuous innovation and professional advancement in clinical practice.

We sincerely welcome more nursing graduates to join Tri-Service General Hospital, grow with us, and make a difference in patients' lives while showcasing their expertise in the best possible environment!
