These are common questions heard from patients at the outpatient chemotherapy clinic. The Outpatient Chemotherapy Clinic at Tri-Service General Hospital (TSGH) has implemented the SAFE nursing care model, utilizing standardized operating procedures, evidence-based nursing steps, and optimized home chemotherapy care processes. TSGH has also innovatively developed teaching models and tools for home chemotherapy, providing patients with simulated learning experiences for safely managing portable chemotherapy at home.
Nurses actively follow up with patients through phone calls and provide instant responses via Line message groups. If there are concerns during the night, patients can also call the chemotherapy ward nurses for consultation, ensuring they feel at ease while completing their chemotherapy injections at home. Patients have expressed their appreciation and positive feedback, expressing they feel truly reassured and no longer afraid during their injections. The SAFE nursing care model in the Outpatient Chemotherapy Clinic participated in the 2024 SNQ National Quality Mark evaluation for nursing care services in the nursing specialty group, and it proudly received the SNQ certification.
