On October 8, 2024, Tri-Service General Hospital (TSGH) held the inauguration ceremony for the "1.5T High-End Magnetic Knife," officially introducing the "Radiation Oncology Department's 1.5T High-End Magnetic Resonance Imaging Guided Radiation Therapy System" (hereafter referred to as the Magnetic Knife). The launch of this cutting-edge equipment marks a significant advancement in cancer treatment at Tri-Service General Hospital.
The Magnetic Knife combines magnetic resonance imaging technology with radiation therapy, enabling real-time tracking of tumor locations. This ensures that physicians can accurately target the tumors during treatment while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. This technology acts like an intelligent "tumor navigation system," offering personalized precision treatment and providing comprehensive protection for both military patients and the general public counterparts.
In his remarks, TSGH Superintendent Dr. Hong Yi-jen emphasized that TSGH has always been committed to developing smart healthcare and innovative technologies.
