Innovation‧change‧persistency—Congratulations to the hospital's medical team for winning three awards at the 20th National Innovation Awards and five awards at the Excelsior Awards in recognition of continuing innovation and advancements

In response to continuous innovation and research development, we have combined cross-territorial professional expertise to participate in the most remarkable awards in domestic biomedicine and general health – the National Innovation Awards. We won three awards at the National Innovation Awards and five spectacular awards at the Excelsior Awards in recognition of our continuing innovation and advancements. These achievements reflect our excellent and enriched results in medical technology innovation, patented research findings, and industrial and academic collaborations. The Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry held the award ceremony on December 27, 2023 at Grand Hilai Taipei, and the winning teams were led by Superintendent Yi-Jen Hung. 

Three teams were recognized at the National Innovation Awards – "RBC-derived exosomes in the diagnosis and prognosis of Parkinson’s disease" published by Dr. Kuan-Yin Tseng and the Neurosurgery Department team, "A Novel Device for Dental Aerosol Mitigation" published by Dr. Da-Yo and the biomedical product R&D team of the Dentistry Department, and the "Innovation Anticoagulant Device for Epidural Blood Patch Therapy" published by Radiologist Lung-Hui Chiang and the Radiological Diagnosis Department team.

There were five winning teams of the Excelsior Awards in recognition of continuing innovation and advancements – "A novel model incorporating 3D printing for endodontic training" published by Professor Yi-Shing Shieh of the Dentistry Department, the "Innovation 3D Brain Surgery Training Simulation System" published by Director Wei-Hsiu Liu of the Neurosurgery Department, "Subthreshold brain stimulation: A novel therapeutic technique for the treatment of schizophrenia" published by Director Hsin-An Chang of the Psychiatry Department, "Multiplex Polymerase Chain Reaction for the Detection of Pathogens in Patients with Respiratory Tract Infection" published by Dr. Tsai, Shih-Hung of the Emergency Medicine Department, and the "Multifunctional Auxiliary Device for Change of Position, Displacement and Rescue" published by Supervisor Yu-Ling Pan of the Nursing Department, all of whom have continued to upgrade their research to develop commercial techniques following recognition at the National Innovation Awards, helping them to maximize the innovation power of military medical care services.
